Rainfall Cardigan – Little Golden Nook

Oh my! I crocheted another design of Little Golden Nook. This time it is the Rainfall Cardigan. With the bobble stitch you create a pattern that looks like falling raindrops. Or while I was crocheting this cardigan: snow.

Before I crocheted the Whole Dot of Love jumper and the Seedlings Sweater. Now I can add this design. I love all of Sandra’s (Little Golden Nook) designs. And I have more patterns in stock that I haven’t made…. yet.

Aran yarn – I used 11skeins Paintbox wool mix Aran, color Pistachio (but I actually needed 1 more)maar eigenlijk nog 1 bol nodig)
Hook 4mm
Needle

Elaboration

The pattern instructions are well written, you can’t do it wrong! After your last row of bobbles, you will go into a speed crochet modus, because you’ll finish before you know it.
FYI! If you purchase the pattern now you’ll receive two versions. One is where you turn after every row. The other one is where you stop turning after row 14.

Before attaching the sleeves I watched a video of the Little Golden Nook on IGTV. IGTV is the YouTube from Instagram. You will need to download another app for it. The video was really useful, never before I attached a sleeve looking this clean! I’d recommend everyone to watch this.

I did the edging of the cardigan a little different, because I ran out of yarn. Also I like it a lot this way. I did the following:

Row 1 – all single crochet around 240.
Rij 2 t/m 3 – half double crochet, I did not turn at the end of a row.
R4 – final row with slip stitches.

Paintbox – Wool Mix Aran

I ordered the Paintbox yarn at LoveCrafts. A great site where you can buy a lot of yarn you can’t buy at Yarnplaza. Unfortunately the yarn ships from London and since the BREXIT you have to pay VAT and import duties. So this was the first and last time I bought yarn there.. but maybe I will dive into the cause and figure out when you have to pay this.

Because Paintbox is really beautiful and soft yarn. It is a mix of 50% wool and 50% acryl. I am a fan. The only minor thing is that it will not make nice knots when attaching a new skein. But I love the result and it is really soft and warm!
