#14 Hooked Hazel Square

3 August 2020

Okay, I often say that I love some of the square designs.. but the latest design is really spot on! In the past few weeks me and my husband tried to find comet Neowise (and found it btw). Also we like to watch the stars and sometimes take photo’s of the night sky… so when Hooked Hazel designed the big dipper onto her square, I fell madly in love <3!

You can find a total overview of all knitting and crochet patterns of this CAL at https://www.twoofwands.com/travelingafghans.

Materials

As you all know this Traveling Afghan CAL is sponsored by Lion Brand. The original design is in one color, I use four. I use four pastel colors (green, grey, pink and beige), with Royal yarn from a Dutch store called Zeeman and crochet hook 6mm. I bought 10 skeins of every color. I’ve noticed I can make around 2,5 squares from one skein. I know I have to much yarn, but luckily this can be returned within the year.

Hooked Hazel #14

This fourteenth design is designed by Emily Davis from Kansas, United States of America. You crochet a lot of basic stitches and you start crocheting a rectangle. Next up is crocheting around this rectangle, which turns it into a square. The big dipper is made by several bobble stitches. By using embroidery you connect the bobbles.
