One step closer to catching up with the Traveling Afghan.. this time the designer chose such a spot on stitch for her square.. and one I have never used before.. The Alpine Stitch. Do you get why it is so spot on? Hint: WOODS and wool. I love it.

Materials
As you all know this Traveling Afghan CAL is sponsored by Lion Brand. The original design is in one color, I use four. I use four pastel colors (green, grey, pink and beige), with Royal yarn from a Dutch store called Zeeman and crochet hook 6mm. I bought 10 skeins of every color. I’ve noticed I can make around 2,5 squares from one skein. I know I have to much yarn, but luckily this can be returned within the year.
Woods and Wools #16
This design is from Melissa Fisher from Michigan, United States of America. As I said the stitch is spot on.. I did need a extra YouTube tutorial because I didn’t immediately understand the stitch. But it all worked out. I like how little trees pop up onto the square and a very welcome addition to my Afghan! Click here to go to the pattern at Melissa’s blog.
