#19 Simple Things Crochet square

5 October 2020

You will never believe it, but I’m all catched up with the Traveling Afghan! Just like many others I am waiting for square number 20! But first number 19: a simple square that’s made off double crochets, chains en half double crochet. Simple but beautiful. The designer honors her name.

You can find a total overview of all knitting and crochet patterns of this CAL at https://www.twoofwands.com/travelingafghans.

Materials

As you all know this Traveling Afghan CAL is sponsored by Lion Brand. The original design is in one color, I use four. I use four pastel colors (green, grey, pink and beige), with Royal yarn from a Dutch store called Zeeman and crochet hook 6mm. I bought 10 skeins of every color. I’ve noticed I can make around 2,5 squares from one skein. I know I have to much yarn, but luckily this can be returned within the year.

Simple Things Crochet #19

This square is designed by Tia Edwards from North Carolina, United States of America. Her blog is called Simple Things Crochet, which describes this square perfectly: a simple crocheted design. With double crochets, chains and half double crochets, you crochet this square in no time. You can finish this really fast. Easy to make, also for beginners. What I enjoyed is that Tia gave a preview before the official launch of the pattern. I already knew how this square would look. Click here to go to the pattern at Tia’s blog.
